Thunderstorm with lightning alert for 24 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Centre forecast thunderstorm with lightning for as many as 24 districts of Odisha for today.

“Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 Kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Koraput, Rayagada, and Kandhamal,” a weather bulletin stated today.

“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Boudh, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur,” Bhubaneswar MeT forecast.

Such weather condition may last in these above districts till tomorrow morning.

The MeT also forecast thunderstorm for several districts for subsequent two days. The weathermen issued yellow warning till April 24 morning.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara,
Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Keonjhar,
Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal during April 22 to 23.

Similarly, Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj between April 23 and 24.

With effect of thunderstorm, maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degree Celsius during next 2 days. The day temperature is likely to increase gradually by 3 to 4 degree Celsius in subsequent 3 days over the districts of Odisha.
