Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a low pressure area, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in at least 21 districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Amritsar, Karnal, Meerut, Lucknow, Gaya, Malda and thence eastwards to Nagaland across Assam.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 35.5oC was recorded at Paralekhamundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0oC was recorded at Nuapada in the plains of Odisha.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Cuttack, Khurda and Puri.
