The programme was organised by Bhubaneswar Auto Mahasangha and Shree Vinayak Motors.

“Traffic arrangements have been beefed up in the city. Public is requested not to violate norms, but to adhere to them,” said S Shyni, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in charge, adding, awareness can help prevent accidents.

Traffic norms will now be implemented more stringently and people taking short cuts will be penalised for violating the norms, she added.

Binod Das, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) pitched for awareness among people to follow traffic rules to avoid mishaps which result in loss of precious lives. Over a thousand auto-rickshaw drivers and people attended the meeting and gave suggestions to the police to strengthen the traffic arrangements in the city.
