Tragic! 5-year-old run over by bus in front of parents in Odisha

Berhampur: In a saddening incident, a five-year-old boy was run over by a bus in front of his parents near Bauni Chhak under K. Nuagaon police station limits in Ganjam district this afternoon.

As per reports, the boy identified as Silu from Gopinathpur village had gone to MKCG College and Hospital along with his parents to visit a doctor. While returning home in a bus, Silu tried to get down near Bauni Chhak while his parents were inside it. The boy then came under the bus tyres and died on the spot.

Following this, family members of the boy and irate locals staged a road blockade by placing the dead body demanding compensation.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and pacified the agitators. Subsequently the protest was withdrawn and vehicular traffic movement was restored.
