Tragic! Woman, daughters-in-law electrocuted in Odisha

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, three of a family were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire while drying clothes in Betai village under Salipur tehsil of the district today.

The deceased are three women of a family – mother-in-law Sita Mallick (70) and her two daughters-in-law Nandita Mallick (35) and Pushpalata Mallick (25).

According to reports, while putting the clothes for drying, Nandita accidentally came in contact with a live electric wire. Sita and Pushpalata who rushed to save her from being electrocuted also came in contact with the wire.

Later, the trio was rushed to a Salipur Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared them dead.

The bodies were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for post-mortem.

A pall of gloom has descended on the village after the unfortunate incident.
