Transmission facility of Radio Choklate damaged in fire

In a major fire that broke out this afternoon at the high power TV transmitter station of Doordarshan at Tulsipur in Odisha’s millennium city, the transmission facility of Radio Choklate, a private FM channel housed inside the Doordarshan facility has been completely reduced to ashes.

Properties worth Rs 2 crore have been estimated to have been damaged in the fire that broke out around 11 AM today.

Radio Choklate’s transmission has been affected due to the fire. Following the fire, transmission of other FM radio channels from the facility has been partially affected.

Notably, all private radio channels use the FM transmission tower at the Doordarshan facility for transmission of their programmes.
