Tribal woman held for killing husband in Odisha

Rayagada, Nov 26:

Muniguda police arrested a tribal woman for killing her husband in Odisha’s Rayagada district on early Tuesday.

According to police, Pulasara Karkaria, a native of Gayatri Sahi of Bhaliapadar village under Muniguda police station limits, was staying with his second wife Kumari and his son and daughter of his first wife after her death.

However, the couple later had a frequent quarrel after Kumari gave birth to a child recently.

The incident took place after the couple had a quarrel on Monday night.

In the wee hours on Tuesday, Kumari took an axe and hacked Pulasaria to death while he was asleep.

Soon after his death, she left the house with the three children to Kutragarh village.

As the villagers found the body of Pulasaria lying in a pool of blood, they informed the police which rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem.

Police later arrested Kumari from Kutragarh village.
