Tribal youth clicks nude pics of woman in Odisha, held

Baripada: A tribal youth was arrested on charges of clicking nude photos of a married woman and threatening her to upload those on internet in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The accused was identified as Ganeswar Hembram (27) of Dhokota village.

The incident took place at Badampahada area on June 8 in the morning where the accused stripped the woman’s clothes in the forest and clicked photographs on his mobile phone.

According to reports, Ganeswar chased the woman while she was going to the forest near her home. Without missing opportunity in an isolated place in the forest, the accused overpowered her and clicked nude photographs after removing her clothes.

He also threatened the victim of uploading the photos on internet if she discloses the incident to anyone.

The victim told her husband after reaching home. Her husband wanted to solve the issue in the village where meeting was held thrice over the incident. However, it was not sorted out.

Later, the husband of the victim lodged complaint with Badampahada police station on June 18.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused yesterday and forwarded him to the court.
