A day after arresting the prime accused Shiva Prasad Panda alias Bhabani for brutally killing three persons, including two women, at Bharatpur slum of Lane number -IV in the Odisha capital, Commissionerate police today sought to take the accused on a five-day remand.

After producing Panda at the District and Session Judge Court here, police filed a written petition seeking permission of the court to take the accused on a five-day remand for further interrogation in the case.

Before Panda was produced in the court, a customary medical test was conducted on him at the Capital hospital here.

After taking Bhabani on remand, police would take him to the crime spot to recreate the sequence of events leading to the crime he had executed on January 27. Police will also try to trace the weapon of offence, the axe he had used to kill the three and the blood stained dress of the accused to make their case stronger in the court.
