‘Tulasi Apa’ screened at Bengaluru International Film Festival

Amiya Patnaik directed biopic on the life of renowned social activist Tulasi Munda has been selected as the only film from Odisha to be screened at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES).

The eight-day international film festival, which kicked off from January 28, will feature around 170 films from 50 countries.

First biopic on social activist Tulasi Munda–‘Tulasi Apa’–has found place in the Indian Cinema Competition section. This section showcases 13 regional and Hindi films. The movie was highly appreciated by the critics.

The movie has been produced by Anupam Patnaik under the banner of AP Production. The cast of the film includes: Barsha Nayak, Madhusmita, Lochani Bag, Premanjan Parida, Mamata Panda and Sujit Paikray.

The movie, which encapsulates various struggles and achievements of the Padmashree awardee has been shot in her birthplace as well as various parts of Keonjhar.

The movie was screened last November at 21st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and was widely appreciated.
