Tusker deaths continue in Odisha, another carcass found in Ganjam

Berhampur: A day after a tusker was suspectedly shot dead by poachers in Odisha’s Ganjam, carcass of another tusker was found near Dhipasahi under Tarasingh Forest Range in Bhanjanagar area of the district today.

The reason behind the death of the elephant is yet to be ascertained. Forest officials have reached the spot and started investigation into the death of the pachyderm.

It may be recalled here that carcass of a tusker was found near Nimakhandi under Digapahandi Forest Range in the district yesterday. The animal allegedly died after sustaining bullet injuries on its head.
