Tusker tramples two, injures one in Odisha

Nilagiri, Feb 14:

At least two women were trampled to death and another seriously injured in a tusker attack near the Forest department beat house at Panchlingeswar in Nilagiri block of Odisha’s  Balasore district late on Saturday night.

While the deceased women who were killed on the spot have been identified as Salma (55) wife of Bharat Murmu and Salma Tudu wife of Jiram Tudu both residents of Godikhala village under Shyamsundarpur panchayat, the critically injured woman hailing from the same village has been identified as Supei Singh (35).

The injured woman has been admitted to the Government Hospital at Nilagiri.

According to sources more than 20 women had gone to attend a cultural programme at the Adivasi Sahi in Baunsabania panchayat and while they were returning home they were attacked by a tusker near the Panchalingeswar Forest department beat house.
