Tutor held for sexually exploiting 5 girl students in Odisha’s Deogarh

Deogarh: A tutor was today detained by police on charges of sexually exploiting five minor girl students in different phases at Talesara village under Kundheigola police limits in Odisha’s Deogarh district.

The accused teacher has been identified as Rabindra Sahu. He had allegedly been committing the crime for the last three months. Fearing social stigma, the victims did not dare to bring their ordeal to fore.

However, parents of two of the girls confronted the teacher on Monday over the matter. Later, they lodged a complaint with police in this regard. Acting on the complaint, police today detained the tutor for questioning.

“On the basis of statement of the five students, we are investigating into the incident. The girls have been sent for medical examination and the accused is being questioned,” a police official said.
