Sangeeta, Routray’s sister-in-law, was first detained and questioned before being arrested today, commissionerate police sources said. She is being kept at the Mahila police station here and would be produced in the court later in the day after the customary medical check  up, the sources said.

Sangeeta was arrested on the basis of information gathered from her sister Trupti, brother Kanhu and father Rajkishore Mohapatra, who have been arrested for the murder, during their interrogation.

All three of them would be produced in the court at the end of their two-day remand period today.

Commissionerate police had recreated the entire murder sequence and the disposal of the body as narrated by the arrested accused, starting from the murder at their apartment in Cuttack Road to the place where they disposed of the body, during the remand period and video recorded the whole thing.

The police also examined the CCTV footage of the time when Pramod’s body was being taken out of the apartment.
