Two areas in Odisha’s Cuttack sealed for COVID-19 containment

Cuttack: As many as two areas of Odisha’s Cuttack district have been sealed and declared as ‘containment zone’ to restrict novel coronavirus transmission.

As per official sources, a COVID-19 patient of Jajpur district had visited Jairampur village in the Tehsil of Nischintakoili and Kanpur village in the Tehsil of Salepur in Cuttack district on March 21. For comprehensive contact tracing, the two areas have been sealed.  Free ingress and egress of people in the areas have been prohibited.

“Ward No. 1 of Jairampur Gram Panchayat in the Tehsil of Nischintakoili and Ward Nos. 12 and 13 of Mirzapur Gram Panchayat in the Tehsil of Salepur are declared as a containment zone,” an official order said.

The limits of the containment zone are described as under:

a) North-Darogani bridge of Kanpur village.

b) South- Behera Sahi Chhak of Kanpur village.

c) East- Masani Chhak of Jairampur.

d) West-Barik Sahi Chhak of Mirzapur.

Movement of vehicles and persons in and out of the said area has been stopped till further orders. All commercial establishments shall be totally closed. Supply of medicines and essential goods shall be ensured by the respective Block Administrations.
