Two arrested with fake Indian currency

New Delhi, Aug 20 :

Two men were arrested with superfine quality fake Indian currency of the face value of Rs.4 lakh here, police said Wednesday.

Mohd. Baharuddin alias Baharu, 27, of West Bengal and Badruddin Mayudin Sayed alias Badru, 55, of Gujarat were arrested from outside the Old Delhi railway station Saturday, police said.

“Superfine quality fake Indian currency of the face value of Rs.4 lakh was recovered from their procession,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Yadav.

There were 300 notes of Rs.1,000 denomination and 200 notes of Rs.500 denomination, he said.

The notes are suspected to have been printed in Pakistan and pushed into India through Bangladesh. The two had come from West Bengal.
