Two arrested for thrashing RI in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Police today arrested two persons on charges of thrashing a Revenue Inspector (RI) in Kantimal panchayat under Anandpur tehsil in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, reports said.

While RI Saran Kumar Das had yesterday gone to Kantipal to conduct an inquiry into digging of earth from a pond he was beaten up by some locals. Das had to be rescued by the Anandpur police.

“I had gone to Kantipal to inquire into digging of earth from a pond. When I asked why they were digging up earth from the pond I was attacked, they tied me up and beat me blue-black. I was rescued by the police,” said Das.
