Two Bol Bam devotees killed in road mishap in Odisha

Two Bol Bam devotees were killed and two others were seriously injured in separate road accidents in Odisha’s Khordha district this morning.

According to reports, a group of Bol Bam devotees were on the way to Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar when a speeding truck hit them from behind at Totapada chhak near Khordha town.

While two Bol Bam devotees died on the spot, one devotee was seriously injured.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured Bol Bam devotee Chitta Ranjan Champati of Garisgada village under Kanas block of Puri district in the district headquarters hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

While one of the deceased has been identified as Subas Bairiranjan of Garisgada village, the other deceased is yet to be identified.

The driver fled the area with the vehicle soon after the mishap.

Police have registered a case and efforts are on to trace out the errant driver, police said.

In another incident, one Bol Bam devotee and a bike driver were seriously injured when the latter hit him with his bike at Daleipata chhak.

Both of them were later admitted to district headquarters hospital.
