In a tragic incident, two college students were killed in a road mishap at Gudiapokhari square on the outskirts of the city on Saturday.

The students who belonged to Keonjhar district were travelling to Puri on a bike when a passenger bus hit them near the diversion at Gudiapokhari square over National Highway-203. They died on the spot, while the bus managed to speed away from the spot, said police.
The deceased were identified as Avinash Palei (19) and Biswajeet Barik (23), both residents of Ghatagoan in Keonjhar. The duo had come to the city for a medical check up. They had borrowed a bike from one of their friends here and were going to Puri to meet one of their relatives.
