Two of a family die, two critical in Odisha after suspected food poisoning

Two kids died and as many are battling for life after suspected food poisoning in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.

According to reports, the condition of four members of a family in Naditola slum under Garjan panchayat limits in the district turned critical after consuming poisonous food.

While two infants died, two other siblings were rushed to a hospital here where they are battling for life.

The deceased have been identified as Akash Jhara (9) and Santoshi Jhara (6). The other two members admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) are Bikash Jhara (2) and Jagdish Jhara (3).

Panposh Sub Collector and SDPO went to the slum and met the bereaved family members later today. The district administration has provided Rs 2000 and Rs 5000 from Harishchandra Yojana and Red Cross fund respectively to the family.
