Two of a family killed in Odisha mishap

Sambalpur, June 12:

Two of a family were killed and two injured in a road mishap on Wednesday when the car in which they were travelling collided head on with an oil tanker near Haripur under Rairakhol police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district, police said.

Reports said Kamal Panda (35) was travelling in his car with his wife Sasmita (28), son Praveen (5), 18 month old daughter Mahima and father-in-law Pitabas Panda (65) to Bhubaneswar from Hirakud when the mishap took place on National Highway-55.

Sasmita and her father were killed on the spot.

Kamal and Pravin were shifted to VSS Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

Miraculously, 18-month-old baby girl escaped unhurt in the mishap, police said.
