Two found dead under mysterious circumstances at separate places in Odisha

Jajpur/Subarnapur:  Two persons were found dead under mysterious circumstances at separates places in Jajpur and Subarnapur districts.

In Jajpur district, locals found a charred body of a man near the police training centre under Byree police limits  this morning and immediately called up police. The cops reached the spot and seized the body. It was later confirmed that the youth aged around 25 years  died of electrocution.

As per information,a racket involved in theft of electricity wires has been active in the area for the past few days. Based on preliminary investigation, the cops assumed that the deceased might be one of them. However, the cops sent the body for autopsy and are further investigating into the incident.

In another incident,  a man of Kuhibahala village under S Rampur police limits in Subarnapur district, who was missing since last two days, was found dead in a forest today.

On April 1, the deceased identified as Swapneshwar Mahananda (41) had gone to fertilize the farmland of one Ugrasen Padhan of Silajuri village.  As he didn’t return, his family started searching for him. Failing to find him, the family lodged a police complaint against Ugrasena and his friend Gadgad Biswal in this connection.

Failing to receive prompt action from the cops, the irate family detained Subarnapur SDPO Mihir Panda, when he visited the spot for an investigation yesterday. Later, following a search operation, the cops recovered Swapneshwar’s body from Barapahada forest last night. Further investigation is underway in this connection, sources said.
