Two human traffickers get four year jail term

New Delhi, July 10 :

A court here Thursday sentenced two men, convicted for a trafficking a girl for prostitution, to four years rigorous imprisonment.

The additional sessions judge, Tis Hazari, also slapped a fine of Rs.2,000 each on Anand Vishwa and Faris Shuja Jalali.

“Both were convicted on July 7 under section of of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956,” said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official.

According to the CBI, the victim was induced by Anand Vishwa with the assurance of a job in Delhi and a deal was entered between Vishwa and Jalali for her sale at the sum of Rs.40,000 for the purpose of her commercial sexual exploitation.

The CBI apprehended both the accused from Lajpat Nagar Bus Stand in south Delhi April 13, 2012 and rescued the victim.

Vishwa is also facing trial in another case of rape and commercial sexual exploitation of a child. He was involved in trafficking of minor girls for the purpose of prostitution from Darjeeling and northeastern states with an assurance of providing them suitable jobs here.
