Two hurt in bomb attack in Odisha’s Puri

Puri, Jan 6:

At least two persons were injured in a crude bomb attack near SCS College square in Odisha’s district headquarters town of Puri today.

The two have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital and their condition is state to be stable, according to hospital sources.

While police has arrested two persons in connection with the incident, it has seized two live crude bombs from the spot.

Old rivalry is stated to be behind the attack, police sources said.

“Old rivalry is the reason behind the bomb attack. While Deepak Khuntia and two of his friends were going towards SCS College square, they were attacked by Raja Swain and his associates with a bhujali. This was opposed by Deepak and his friends. Deepak had hurled two crude bombs on his opponents, while live one crude bomb has been seized from Raja. All of them have cases pending against them,” said Pravat Routray, Puri city DSP to reporters.
