Two injured in fuel tank explosion in Odisha

A father-son duo sustained burn injuries this morning after the fuel tank of a two-wheeler exploded at Torana in Odisha’s Puri district.


As per reports, Sabita Behera along with her husband and her six-year-old son, all residents of Balugaon, had gone to her parent’s place at Torana to spend Puja vacation.

While the family members were indoors, the minor child was playing in front of the house.  Suddenly, a motorcycle parked outside the house caught fire and its fuel tank exploded.  The impact of explosion was such that the child’s dress caught fire.

The terrified minor boy cried for help after he sustained burn injuries. The family members rushed outside the house hearing the crying sound of the child. In an attempt to douse the fire, the father of the child sustained burn injuries.

The local villagers rescued them and extinguished the fire. Both were rushed to Capital Hospital here in a critical condition.

However, the reason behind the fire mishap was not known.
