Two minor boys drown in canal in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: In a tragic incident, two minor boys met watery grave while taking bath in a canal in Bari block of Odisha’s Jajpur district today.

The deceased have been identified as Aditya Barik (13) and Brahmananda Barik (13) of Sahupada village, both students of class-IX of Pushpagiri High School.

According to reports, the two had gone to a nearby canal along with their three friends to take bath around 11.30 am. Aditya and Brahmananda got swept away with the water flow and drowned.

Their friends informed locals about the incident. Later, Fire personnel reached the spot and recovered the bodies from the canal. The bodies have been sent to the Ramachandrapur community health centre for post-mortem.
