Odisha: 3 more ruling party MLAs test positive for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Three more ruling party legislators in Odisha tested positive for deadly COVID-19. In a tweet, BJD MLA from Bhubaneswar North Assembly constituency Susant Rout stated his samples have tested positive for COVID-19 today and is currently in home isolation.

Rout further said his condition is stable. Also, the legislator requested those who came in contact with him in last few days to get themselves tested, if need arises.

Besides, Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda has tested positive for the virus. Informing this on Twitter, he requested people who have came in contact with him recently to isolate themselves and get tested.

Another ruling party MLA Sunanda Das from Bari Assembly constituency also tested positive for the virus. She is in home isolation and requested people who came in close proximity of her in recent past get themselves tested, if possible.

Earlier, other legislators who tested positive were Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray, Baramba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Pottangi MLA Pritam Padhi, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Mallick, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Khandapada MLA and Editor of ‘Sambad’ Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar Parida and Salepur MLA Prasant Behera.

Higher Education and Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and Rural Development and Labour Minister Susanta Singh also tested positive for the virus.
