Two morning walkers die, one injured in road mishap in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, two morning walkers died and another sustained critical injuries after allegedly being ran over by an unknown speeding vehicle at Sanpada along Nuagaon-Khordha road on NH-57 here in the district today.

The deceased persons have been identified as Tikina Pradhan and Manasi Martha of Sanpada village.

According to reports, an unknown vehicle ran over five women during morning walk at around 5.00 AM on the main road. While Tikina and Manasi died on the spot, injured Surabala Parida was rushed to the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital.

“Five women had gone for morning walk. We do not know which vehicle ran over them. While two died, three survived in the incident. My wife’s leg got fractured and we are considering to shift her to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for further treatment,” said Upendra Parida, husband of injured Surabala Parida of Sanpada village.
