Two Odisha labourers among three killed in Telangana quarry blast

Two Odisha labourers were killed and another was seriously injured in a blast at a granite quarry near Telangana’s Karimnagar on Saturday evening. A labourer from Tamil Nadu was also killed in the incident.

As per reports, the incident took place at Kothagattu under Shankarapatnam mandal when four labourers were drilling a rock at the quarry at about 4.30 pm.

The explosives meant for breaking huge boulders blasted accidentally and fell on these four labourers killing three of them on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Ajay Naik (22) and Rahul Naik (24), both from Odisha, and Mariyappan (25) from Tamil Nadu.

The injured worker, Bikur Naik (23), a resident of Odisha who sustained grievous injuries in the mishap, was shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital at Warangal where his condition is said to be critical.
