Two PLFI members involved in beheading of Odisha man arrested

Sundargarh, Jan 30:

Two members of  Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI), an extortionist group having presence in Jharkhand and bordering villages of Odisha, were arrested and forwarded to court by Sundargarh police on Friday.

They have been identified as Mangru Soren (26), a resident of Jamabahal under Raiboga police station and Sushil Dungdung (28), a resident of Bobemuhan under Raiboga police station. The two arrested PLFI members were forwarded to court on Friday afternoon.

“We have arrested two more PLFI members and forwarded them to court in this murder case,” said K.K.Behera, Sub Inspector, Raiboga police station, Sundargarh.

The two had  allegedly beheaded the owner of  a brick unit on July 31 night.

Sources said one had been residing with his family members at his Majhopada residence. Sidhu Sagar had married two months ago. On 31st July night, Sindhu Sagar and his family had gone for sleep and at around 11 pm,

About 20 PLFI activists carrying arms and ammunitions had broken open the door of Sindu Sagar Das (28), owner of a  brick unit at Majhapara area under Raiboga police station in Sundargarh district, barged into the house and tied all his family members. Thereafter, they forcibly took Sindhu Sagar with them to a place near Majhapara school and beheaded him. They had also hit his hands with sharp weapon.

Before leaving the spot, they had left a poster claiming the incident as of PLFI act. The poster also termed Sindhu Sagar as the police informer and the act is a punishment  to him for being one.

The next morning,  Raiboga police had reached the spot and while examining the spot,  police had found  a poster of PLFI in which Barud Gope,  zonal commander of  North Sankh zone of  PLFI  had taken the responsibility of  this killing.

Police had arrested five PLFI members on separate dates and had forwarded them to court in this case.

Acting on a tip off about the presence of two more PLFI members allegedly involved in the killing of Sindhu Sagar Das in their residence under Raiboga police station, Raiboga police team led by sub inspector K.K.Behera arrested two PLFI members on Friday morning.

“We are further investigating the case to arrest other PLFI members who are involved in this barbaric act.” SI Behera added.
