A local court in Odisha’s Kandhamal district today sent to jail two youths, who were arrested for allegedly gangraping a girl.

The two youths were sent to jail after their bail applications were rejected by the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Baliguda.

Allegedly, the duo had forcibly lifted a girl who was waiting for a bus at Daringbadi, to a nearby forest and gang raped her.

The victim had come to Daringbadi on a visit to her uncle’s house.

After the incident, the victim on returning to her uncle’s house lodged a complaint with the police, following which the duo was arrested and forwarded to court.
