Two sisters meet with watery grave in Odisha

Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident, two minor girls, both sisters, drowned while taking bath in a pond in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district today.

The deceased sisters are identified as Champa Santa (8) and Nila Santa (10).

According to reports, the incident took place at Kumudaguda village under Jharigaon block in the district.

It is suspected that the two girls got caught in the slush and could not come out of the pond but the exact cause behind the mishap is yet to be known.

Their bodies were retrieved with the help of villagers and sent for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered.

Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on Kumudaguda village and nearby areas.
