Two tourists were injured in Odisha’s pilgrim town Puri after they were attacked by a street vendor today.
Police have detained two persons in connection with the incident.
One Sudip Banerjee and his mother sustained injuries when they were allegedly attacked by a street vendor near Swarga Dwara chowk. They hail from neighbouring West Bengal.
Reports said Sudip and his mother had allegedly sat on a compound wall while they were strolling on the beach. They were first asked by a road-side vendor not to sit on the wall.
The vendor allegedly pushed off the mother and son from the wall and beat them up with a bamboo stick.
Police have detained two persons on the basis of a complaint lodged by Sudip at the Sea Beach police station.
