Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Gopalpur, Dec 10:

After 2 years, a vessel has anchored in Gopalpur port in Odisha. A ship from Sri Lanka called Grace has docked in the port. After severe cyclonic storm Phailin on October 2013 wrecked havoc in the port, the harbour was closed and ships had stopped berthing here.

After repair work has been completed in the port, ships have been slowly coming in. The port will be fully functional by December 12, the port authorities have said.
The port authorities have said that after Grace, five more ships are going to dock here this month.

The reopening of the Gopalpur Port has spread cheer among the locals as more than 5000 workers can find employment after the port becomes fully operational.
