Bhubaneswar: In view of difficulties that NET qualified candidates faced during Covid pandemic, The University Grants Commission (UGC) extended the validity of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) award for another one year.
UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar informed it on his Twitter handle.
UGC has decided to extend the validity period of the JRF award letter up to one year (beyond the three year period) for all those UGC NET qualified candidates whose admission process was affected due to COVID 19 pandemic situation. The notification is being issued. pic.twitter.com/BWj90kGklO

UGC bestows JRF fellowship to candidates, who qualify in the National Education Testing (NET) and the UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) joint test.
The objective of the JRF scheme is to provide opportunities to NET-qualified candidates to undertake advanced studies and research leading to M.Phil./Ph.D degrees in humanities and social sciences, including languages and sciences.
