Union Home secy coming on Sunday to take stock of cyclone damage

Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami will visit Odisha on Sunday to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the damages caused by Cyclone Phailin, official sources said.
After having preliminary discussions with senior state officials, he would leave for Ganjam where he would hold discussions with district collector Krishan Kumar and Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) (Southern Division) Bikash Mohapatra on the ongoing relief, restoration and rehabilitation programmes.
In the afternoon, Goswami would visit the flood-ravaged Baleswar district and discuss the situation with district collector B Parameswaran and RDC (Central Division) Arabinda Padhee.
Back in Bhubaneswar, he would meet Chief Secretary JK Mohapatra and his team of senior officials to discuss issues related to post-calamity relief and rehabilitation.
Special Relief Commissioner Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra would make a presentation to the Union secretary on the losses incurred.
Principal Secretary (Home) Vipin Saxena and DGP Prakash Mishra would accompany Goswami during his visit to the affected areas.
Before his return to New Delhi, Goswami is likely to meet chief minister Naveen Patnaik in the evening, the sources added.
