Unwed mother stages dharna in front of lover’s house with baby in Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: High drama unfolded at Desi Behera Sahi in Bada Bazar area of Odisha’s Berhampur town as an unmarried woman staged a dharna in front of her lover’s house with their baby.

As per the woman namely K Deepika, she had developed a relationship with one K Dinesh of the locality, two years ago. Later, he established physical relation with Deepika and impregnated her.

Though Dinesh had promised the woman to marry her, he didn’t do so even after the birth of the baby boy, alleged Deepika, adding that his family members were asking her to stay away from him.

She has filed a complaint in this regard with police and lodged a case at the Orissa High Court.

As Deepika came to know that Dinesh’s marriage was being fixed with another woman, she reached in front of his house with their baby yesterday and staged a dharna whole night demanding her marriage with him.

On the other hand, family members of Dinesh lodged a complaint with the Bada Bazar police alleging that Deepika entered their house forcibly in the night.

Police later reached the spot and brought the woman out of the house and provided protection to her at the dharna spot.

She has alleged that Dinesh’s family members assaulted her inside the house.
