Uri attack: BSF jawan from Odisha martyred in J&K

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan hailing from Odisha’s Nuapada district succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Army Hospital in Srinagar.

The Odia jawan identified as Peetabas Majhi from Danojhola under Komna police limits in Nuapada district sustained grievous injuries during a combing operation post the militant attack on Indian Army brigade headquarters at Uri in northern part of Kashmir.

He was admitted to 92 Base Hospital of the Army where he was undergoing treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

“Peetabash Majhi has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the army hospital in Srinagar. His body will be arriving at his native place tomorrow,” Nuapada SP, Madkar Sandeep Sampat informed.

Notably, 18 soldiers had died in the brazen attack on last Sunday.
