Use of smartphone by police personnel inside Puri Jagannath Temple prohibited

Puri: Use of smartphone by police personnel inside the Shree Jagannath Temple here has been prohibited. A direction in this regard was today issued by Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.

It was earlier alleged that usage of smartphone by police personnel was resulting in dereliction of duty by them.

Acting on the allegations, the SP today imposed the prohibition.

However, police personnel engaged in special duties and emergency services will be allowed to carry smartphones with them inside the temple.
