Breast cancer occurs when diseased cells in the breast grow out of control. The disease continues to rise by almost 30% every year. This is an alarming situation and hence, the society must build an ecosystem where awareness is considered the first step and is followed by various modules of treatments available.

Odisha, a populous state and a major mining belt in India, has a high level of environmental carcinogens which sometimes play as catalysts in spreading of the disease.

In recent years, it is being witnessed that females below the age of 40 are getting diagnosed with breast cancer. Earlier, the age bar extended to 50 years. The prime reason for increasing number of cancer patients are lifestyle changes, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, increasing incidence of drinking and smoking and use of multiple hormonal drugs.

Early detection of breast cancer has many benefits. Patients diagnosed with stages 1 & 2 breast cancers, if diagnosed early and kept under treatment, can lead a healthy life.

Utkal Hospital, which was founded by an eminent group with an objective to extend quality healthcare, is the first of its kind where advanced diagnostic services have begun to pave the path in the formulation of various modules of treatment for cancer patients.

The hospital, with its state-of-the-art facility, eminent clinical fraternity, round clock availability of all services, has become a front-runner in providing cancer care to the people of Odisha and its neighboring states.
