UTP jumps from court building in Odisha capital; hospitalized

In an act of daredevilry that went wrong, an undertrial prisoner (UTP) today sustained critical injuries after jumping from the third floor of a Court building in the Odisha capital.

The prisoner identified as Ashok Behera who was admitted to the Capital Hospital here in a critical condition initially, was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He has received critical injuries on his head and other parts of his body, reports said.

Behera, who was produced in the court by the local jail authorities in connection with a case, in his attempt to flee, jumped from the third floor of the court, reports added.
