Vaccinate pregnant women, teachers on priority basis ahead of COVID 3rd wave: Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: Amid fear of imminent third wave of COVID-19, Odisha Government asked the authorities to gear up massive inoculation drive covering the district-wise targets with focus on beneficiaries including pregnant women.

In this regard, the State Health & Family Welfare Department wrote to all the district collectors, municipal commissioners, CDMOs and PHOs to carry out the vaccination of second dose due beneficiaries, all pregnant women, teachers and non-teaching staff of government and private schools.

Recently, the MoHFW has nearly doubled the monthly vaccine allocation to States and the faster vaccine consumption will lead to higher allocation for the State, a notification stated today.

The Health Department directed the concerned officials to achieve administration of 3.5 lakh doses in a single day in all the districts.
