Vendor kills mother-son duo in Odisha

In a gruesome incident, two persons were hacked to death by a hawker in Anelakata village under Bheden police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district.

The incident occurred late yesterday night when the accused—Rama Patra— attacked the family members of Nag family.

The accused, a puffed rice vendor, attacked three members of the family with a sharp weapon. While the mother-son duo died on the spot, the husband of the woman was admitted to Bheden hospital in critical condition.

The deceased have been identified as Jama Nag and Jagabandhu Nag.

Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested by the local police.

Though the exact reason behind the bloody attack was unknown, sources said that the vendor had an altercation with the Nag family earlier in the day. It is presumed that the accused attacked them to avenge the insult, sources added.

Police have begun investigation into the incident.
