Very heavy rainfall likely to lash Odisha on Durga Puja Ashtami 2022

Bhubaneswar: Heavy downpour may spoil Durga Puja festivities in Odisha this year as the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted the same for the day of Maha Ashtami (October 3).

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Kalahandi on October 3,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.

Moreover, on the day of Maha Saptami (October 2), the coastal part of the state is likely to experience heavy rainfall.

“Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal on October 2,” the Meteorological Centre added.
