Veteran actor Biraj Dash passes away

Bhubaneswar: Veteran actor Biraj Dash died today at a private hospital here after a prolonged illness. He was 63.

Dash was suffering from lungs cancer and had been admitted to the private hospital for past four months.

Born on June 15, 1959, Biraj Dash garnered praises for his acting in ‘Jaa Devi Sarba Bhuteshu’, ‘Maa pari Kiye Heba’, ‘Golam Giri’ and ‘Prem Chandan’. He started his career from ‘Bagulaa Baguli’.

Dash played the lead role in ‘Ajaati’ directed by Pranab Das.

He also acted in tele-films ‘Tamasa Tire’ and ‘Daka Munsi’ that were broadcasted on Doordarshan.
