Veterinary Surgeon caught taking bribe in Odisha’s Sonepur

Subarnapur: Vigilance sleuths today caught a veterinary surgeon while he was accepting illegal gratification of Rs 5000 in Subarnapur district.

The doctor, Priyabrata Behera, was posted as veterinary surgeon in Subalaya under Subalaya police limits of Subarnapur district.

According to the sources, a complaint was lodged against Behera by one Laxman Mohankuda of Badakhamar village of Subarnapur district. As per the complainant, Behera had demanded Rs 5000 bribe from him in order to  submit eligibility certificate under Mo Guhala Scheme.

After receiving the complaint, Vigilance Sambalpur Division laid a trap and caught Behera red-handed while he was accepting the bribe amount.

“The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized. Relevant documents have also been seized. Office chamber and rented house of Behera are being searched on DA angle,” informed an official.
