[Video] Boat overturns during Chandan Jatra of Lord Ladu Baba in Odisha
Nayagarh: A boat carrying as many as 27 persons overturned in a pond during Chandan Jatra of Lord Ladu Baba at Sarankul in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, yesterday.
According to reports, the mishap took place when the Chapa Khela ritual of the deity was underway on the decorated boat in the Chandan Pokhari pond near the temple, last evening.

The boat carrying 27 servitors and other concerned persons, and the idol of the deity capsized in the water body while it was some metres away from the shore.
Fortunately, people who were watching the ritual near the shore jumped into the pond and saved them.
The idol of the deity was also recovered from the pond.
