Vigilance nabs Health dept staff while taking bribe

Odisha Vigilance today trapped a dealing assistant of a Community Health Centre (CHC) while he was accepting a bribe to issue a death certificate.

Mirza Sarzid Baig, a dealing assistant of the CHC at Munisipentha under Chhatrapur block in Ganjam district was caught by sleuths of the Vigilance while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from Hadu Gouda to issue death certificate of his father, Vigilance sources said.

Baig had allegedly sought a bribe from Gouda to issue a death certificate of his deceased father.

Sources said Gouda had reported the matter to Berhampur Vigilance SP who planned to trap Baig and accordingly a team of officials nabbed the dealing assistant while he was accepting the bribe amount.
