Vigilance raid on Jr MVI’s residence, office in Odisha

Vigilance sleuths today cracked down on a transport officer in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on charges of accumulating disproportionate assets (DA) to his known sources of income.

The anti-corruption sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at four places, including his residence and office.

The raids were conducted based on reliable information provided to the vigilance officials regarding allegations of amassing disproportionate asset to his known source of income

Besides, raids were conducted at his ancestral house in Bhadrak, father-in-law’s house in Nayapalli area and his residence at Shastri Nagar in Bhubaneswar.

The transport officer—Prakash Kumar Bagla– is posted as Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) at Regional Transport Office (RTO) here.

According to sources, the cops have seized some cash, gold jewellery, bank passbook and other savings instruments during the raid.

The raids were still on till the reports last came in.
