The Sabyasachi-Archita chemistry weaved magic and the dose of fresh comedy with rib-tickling dialogues in ‘Pilata Bigidigala’ had the audience in splits and cheering. The music, costume and location too, were the highlights of the movie. Sabyasachi also lent his voice for the title track of the film, which was shot in Thailand.

And no doubt, the director-produce duo would want to capitalise on its popularity and come up with a sequel.

But so far, neither the actors, the director, Basant Sahu nor the stand-up comedian Pappu Pom Pom have confirmed to signing any such sequel. Lipsa Mishra, the supporting actor in the film was reported to have not been cast in the sequel. But there is no clarity on this detail, so far.

Basant Sahu, the director is of the opinion that a sequel should not be made in such a short span of time. ‘Pilata Bigidigala’ released on 14 August 2015.

Actor Sabyasachi says, “Though the production house is interested for a second innings, I believe that a sequel is generally made at an interval of at least one year. So as an actor, on a personal level, I need some time before the sequel is planned.”

Meanwhile Sourav Entertainment , the production house has its hand full with distributing  some big budget Bollywood films like ‘Phantom’, ‘Singh is Bling’, ‘Calendar Girls’, ‘Katti Batti’ and ‘Shandaar’.

A sequel or no sequel, good comedy movies are welcome any time in Ollywood.
